Here are a few rants from my file (btw, if you haven't played video games for the past 10 years, or haven't played MMBN, you won't get these):

I swear, capcom follows the "if we make them cover the same ground 17 thousand times, it makes the game seem longer" school of game design.

Then they have the "we won't actually give them good weapons, so the difficulty seems higher, because we can't be bothered to fine tune the difficulty" school of rpg design.

Then there's my favorite: the "to make it even harder, your best weapon does 120 points of damage, and the boss you have to beat to continue on has 1200 points of damage, with unlimited uses of his best weapon" school of "fuck you, we already have your money" game design.

Then there's the all time best: the "you can combine your weapons to have unlimited shots for a period of time, but on the bosses, where you want to use them, once you hit the boss, it becomes invincible for a few seconds, making combinging your weapons nearly pointless" school of "screw you dumb americans! we hate you!" game design.
